POLL: Should American businesses kowtow to Communist China?
The NBA found itself in hot water with Communist China when the Houston Rockets’ General Manager expressed support for pro-Democracy protests in Hong Kong.
Not only did the League come down harshly on one of its own executives, the Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets proceeded to play a preseason game in Shanghai and banned players from speaking to the press.
Just last year, Lakers’ star and face of the league LeBron James complained when Fox News host Laura Ingraham slammed his politics, saying “I will not just shut up and dribble.”
Critics pointed out the League’s hypocrisy after they pulled the All-Star game in Charlotte, North Carolina after the Transgender Bathroom Ban was passed.
