Oprah Winfrey is preparing to release a #MeToo documentary on Netflix that the media is giving her enormous praise for.
But the documentary omits certain names of celebrities involved in #MeToo scandals and now she’s receiving major backlash.
And the last person Oprah ever expected just stabbed her in the back over her outrageous #MeToo film.
There is nothing controversial about creating a documentary to detail how the #MeToo movement unfolded.
But failing to cover both Jeffrey Epstein and Harvey Weinstein’s role in the scandals is a big mistake.
Oprah Winfrey is desperately trying to hide her relationships with Harvey Weinstein and Jeffrey Epstein and now celebrities are calling her out for it.
Rapper 50 Cent went after Oprah for attacking only black men in her documentary and failing to address her relationships with these two sexual predators.
Oprah Winfrey’s forthcoming #MeToo documentary set to be released next year on Apple TV+ is already facing backlash, with music mogul Russell Simmons and rapper-actor 50 Cent stepping forward to accuse Winfrey of strategic omissions and outright falsehoods.
Winfrey is producing the as yet untitled documentary, which is about sexual harassment in the music industry and is believed to focus on Simmons.
The new project comes from filmmakers Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering who made CNN’s 2015 campus-rape documentary The Hunting Ground, which also faced criticisms of inaccuracies and misreporting of facts.
Simmons is facing multiple accusations of sexual assault going as far back as three decades. The rap mogul, who denies the allegations, was one of the most prominent entertainment figures to be swept up in the early days of the #MeToo movement.
Hollywood celebrities have not discovered how to sustain their “woke” status with their fans while reconciling their relationships with people like Harvey Weinstein and Jeffrey Epstein.
But it hasn’t stopped them from being self-righteous and preaching about social justice.
Oprah’s case is worse than others.
She was a personal friend with these two men.
It’s possible Oprah even knew about their sick behavior and turned a blind eye to it all.
Creating a documentary on the #MeToo movement and not including Weinstein and Epstein is disrespectful to the victims of these men.
What do you think?
Did Oprah Winfrey know about Epstein and Weinstein’s disgusting behavior before the scandal broke?
