One thing Hollywood is really good at is patting themselves on the back.
Multiple times each year, Hollywood celebrities congratulate themselves at various award shows.
And one actress just gave a chilling speech about abortion at the most recent awards show.
The Golden Globes is a film and television awards show that serves as a run-up to the Academy Awards one month later.
This year’s Golden Globes was notable for host Ricky Gervais’ scathing rebuke of Hollywood hypocrisy and “woke” culture.
Gervais urged recipients not to make self-serving acceptance speeches, but they did it anyway.
One of the worst belonged to actress Michelle Williams who used her speech to promote abortion.
Life News reports:
Though she never used the word abortion, Williams credited her success to her so-called “right to choose.”
I wouldn’t have been able to do this without employing a woman’s right to choose: to choose when to have my children, and with whom,” she said to loud applause from the crowd of celebrities.
Williams also “thanked God” for the freedom to abort her own unborn children.
“I know my choices may look different than yours, but thank God or whomever we pray to that we live in a country founded on the principle that I am free to live by my faith and you are free to live by yours,” she said.
Concluding her speech, she encouraged women to vote in their “own self-interest” because “it’s what men have been doing for years.”
Thanking God for the right to kill unborn children is repugnant.
Suggesting that killing a child was instrumental in her success sounds less like honoring God and more like a Faustian bargain.
And Williams suggesting women should vote their own self-interest because men have been doing it for years is nothing but divisive.
Williams is steeped in radical feminist thought, which aims to pit the sexes against each other in the hackneyed Marxist paradigm of oppressor versus oppressed.
And it never occurred to Williams that perhaps women already have been voting in their self-interest.
According to a 2019 Gallup poll, more women than men are pro-life (51% to 46%).
So if Williams wants to vote against the “patriarchy,” she should be pro-life.
