The hysteria of the radical Left has reached a fever pitch.
They’re looking for any excuse possible to get offended and claim a grievance.
And one business had to take down their Norwegian flag for this insane reason.
The troubling “antiracist” movement of the far-left slowly gaining mainstream acceptance.
The concept sounds innocuous enough, but it’s actually deeply rooted in radical Marxist thought, and the idea is to tear at the fabric of America.
That’s why leftists are scouring for disparities or anything that could even be perceived as offensive.
That’s what led two inn owners in Michigan to take down the Norwegian flag outside of their business.
Greg and Kjersten Offenbecker run an inn called the Nordic Pineapple in Lansing, Michigan, an homage to Kjersten’s Norwegian grandfather.
The estate was originally built by a Union general in 1861, so it was particularly ironic that the quaint inn was being charged with hoisting a Confederate flag.
It turns out that the people complaining can’t tell the difference between the Norwegian Flag and the confederate flag.
Even if the people were unfamiliar with the Norwegian flag, it looks nothing like the confederate confederate flag.
It’s amusing that leftists point to the Nordic countries as economic models, but they can’t even identify a Nordic flag.
This is just the latest example of federally controlled government schools doing a terrible job at educating the American populace.
As the government has seized more control of education, math and English proficiency have declined along with literacy rates.
Now Americans seemingly can’t identify the Confederate flag, which is associated with the bloodiest war in United States history.
This is what happens when teachers’ unions – whose primary focus is to protect teachers, not educate students – and central planners dominate K-12 education policy.
Greg Offenbecker agrees with the tragic dumbing down of America.
He said, “It bugs me as far as the stupidity of people. Even if the flag is blowing in the wind or laying limp, there are no stars on it. They look nothing alike.”
But we live in a culture where truth has been supplanted by social justice.
The couple posted the following somber message on Facebook addressing their decision to take down the flag:
“Given the current cultural climate and the idea that people are judging us based on the misconception of the national Norwegian flag vs. the Confederate flag, this is what is best for our family and our Inn.”
It’s sad that they had to bend the knee to a know-nothing mob.
