Leftists claim the Beatles are theirs.
They’ve raised John Lennon as one of their idols for decades.
Now, Leftist gospel about The Beatles is destroyed after Paul McCartney broke his silence on this one controversy.
Leftists love John Lennon.
When Lennon sang his Marxist trope “imagine no possessions” he was practically made a god to the Left.
Just like that fellow-Beatle Paul McCartney was “less than” in their eyes.
It meant McCartney would get the blame for the Beatles breaking up.
Of course, decades after the Beatles’ breakup fans of all political stripes still listen to the band’s music.
But after 50 years, Paul McCartney broke his silence about the real reason behind The Beatles breakup.
In a recent interview, former Beatles band member Paul McCartney decided to address a misconception about the end of the band.
What was the misconception you ask? That he was responsible for the breakup.
For decades many have believed that McCartney was the one who chose to leave the band causing its breakup.
But in an interview with The Observer, McCartney tells a very different story, stating that it was actually John Lennon who decided to leave.
“John walked into a room one day and said I am leaving the Beatles,” McCartney recalled.
Paul McCartney was the first member of the band to publicly state that they were finished, which is likely where the rumors began that he was the instigator of the split.
Confusion mounted about the breakup because the band’s manager asked the members to keep quiet about it until he was able to wrap up a number of business deals.
“It was weird because we all knew it was the end of the Beatles but we couldn’t just walk away,” the former Beatle stated.
According to McCartney, he eventually let the cat out of the bag because he was so deeply unhappy in the situation as they all tried to pretend the breakup wasn’t imminent.
McCartney insists he wanted the band to stay together and that it was Lennon who wanted to “break loose” from the group.
Over the years McCartney has opened up about the split saying he became very depressed and turned to alcohol afterwards to numb the pain.
The Beatles left their mark on the world and to this day are still listened to worldwide. There are not many other bands that can say they have had such a lasting impact.
People still discuss the rumors behind the split and argue over who was really to blame, with many still believing it was Lennon’s wife Yoko Ono who influenced his worldview and sparked the band’s demise.
It’s hard to believe that after all these years people are still discussing what really caused the breakup of one of the most beloved bands of all time.
That’s staying power.
And with McCartney revealing the truth about the break up perhaps leftist Beatles fans will realize it’s time to put Lennon’s communist doggerel in the dust-bin – but don’t count on it.
