NBC Today show host Kathie Lee Gifford recently appeared on The Billy Hallowell Podcast.
There she recalled talking with Megyn Kelly after Evangelist Billy Graham died.
And the inspirational message she shared is one everyone needs to hear.
Kathie Lee Gifford was close to Evangelist Billy Graham.
She was saved after watching a film called, “The Restless One,” a faith-based film that featured the famous evangelist.
So when Billy Graham passed away, Megyn Kelly interviewed Kathie Lee Gifford about him.
Christian Headlines reports:
[Gifford] recalled that Kelly had asked her how she could be so bold in her faith in the entertainment industry, to which Gifford replied, “If I had the cure for cancer, I knew what it was — would I ever withhold it from anybody, much less somebody who’s suffering from cancer? Never!”
She continued, “I feel like I have the cure for the malignancy of the soul and he has a name — and it’s Jesus and I have to share when I’m given a chance because I don’t want people to not know the freedom they can have in Him.”
Gifford said, “We all have malignancies of our soul… we’re looking for love in all the wrong places, aren’t we? Instead of the very source of love himself. The one who died so we could know love, true love.”
Gifford is certainly unapologetic in sharing her faith.
But it’s because she truly wants everyone else to share in what she’s experiencing.
Before ending the interview, Gifford teased a new movie she wrote for her two friends, Craig Ferguson and Ricky Gervais.
While she noted it’s the first major project she’s done that’s not faith-based, she says it’s “really transformed” her.
She then shared a story about Ferguson asking why she “loved him” and Gervais, given that he’s agnostic and Gervais is an atheist. “We’re not good people,” he said.
Gifford explained, “I love you because Jesus loves you, and that’s enough for me.”
“That’s what we’re here for people. To love people,” Gifford added.
