Australia has spiraled out of control.
The powers that be have taken COVID regulations and mandates to a level most could have never even imagined.
And it’s now official, the Australian government has gone full on 1984 with this recent move.
Residents in apartment blocks who have been locked down by Australia’s New South Wales Health Department because of supposed surges in COVID cases are now having their alcohol consumption monitored.
NSW Health has decided they need to limit the number of drinks being consumed each day in the name of safety.
They say it’s to ensure the welfare of the residents and the NSW Health staff.
All excess alcohol is being confiscated until lockdown rules are lifted.
Many residents in Sydney have complained authorities are searching their “care packages sent by friends and relatives” to check for violations of the order.
“They are searching all bags and things coming into the building … They confiscated a series of gifts. So things like bottles of spirits, we weren’t allowed to have those and we still (aren’t),” one resident stated.
It’s being questioned whether NSW Health has the authority to limit the alcohol consumption of people who are being forcefully quarantined in their private residences.
The police are denying reports that they are confiscating alcohol from residents.
“In all residential lockdown locations, NSW Police are there to ensure compliance with the Public Health Orders and assist NSW Health if required,” the spokeswoman said.
It’s a slippery slope when a government starts instituting national travel bans and locking people in their own homes.
Given so much power it’s no surprise that the Australian authorities believe they can regulate whatever it is they like.
Right now it’s alcohol but sooner or later it could be things like water and electricity.
Australia traded away its liberty out of fear.
Sadly, unless Americans continue to push back against Biden’s vaccine mandates the same could soon be true in “the last best hope for Freedom” as America was long ago called.
