Jussie Smollett falsely claimed to be a victim of an alleged hate-crime attack.
He was indicted on 16 counts of disorderly conduct, and those charges were suddenly dropped with no explanation.
Now, he’s being nominated for this award and Americans are fuming.
Even former Obama Chief of Staff turned Chicago Mayor lashed out at the decision to drop the charges against actor Jussie Smollett.
“This is a whitewash of justice,” Rahm Emanuel declared. “It’s Mr. Smollett who committed this hoax. He’s still saying he’s innocent, still running down the Chicago Police Department. How dare he? How dare he? Its wrong. Full stop. From top to bottom, this is not on the level.”
Smollett being cleared of the charges is as corrupt as it gets and shows that Hollywood elitists don’t have to play by the same rules as regular Americans.
And now, Smollett has been nominated for the 2019 NAACP Image Awards.
Anthony Anderson has hosted the event six times and said he hopes the actor wins.
“I hope he wins,” Anderson added. “I’m happy for him that the system worked for him in his favor because the system isn’t always fair, especially for people of color. So I’m glad it worked out for him.”
Smollett claimed the “attackers” screamed this is “MAGA country.”
It’s now known that the attackers were black and were in fact paid by Smollett.
Originally, the Chicago PD said Smollett used the attack to stay on the show “Empire” and even wanted an increase in pay.
Can you imagine the stories on the Fake News Media if a Trump supporter faked an attack for personal gain?
The decision to drop the charges irked President Trump so much that he has instructed the FBI and DOJ to review the case in Chicago.
“FBI & DOJ to review the outrageous Jussie Smollett case in Chicago. It is an embarrassment to our Nation!” Trump tweeted.

What do you think should happen to Smollett? Should the FBI review the case and prosecute him to the fullest extent of the law?
