Just a year ago, most of the American public couldn’t even tell you what Anthony Fauci looked like, let alone what he did for a living.
Fauci’s rise to fame has been rapid in the wake of the COVID pandemic.
And now, Dr. Fauci stunned Americans by climbing to the number one spot on this exclusive list.
Fauci raked in a cool $417,608 in 2019; the 2020 salary numbers have yet to be reported.
This makes Dr. Fauci, the Director of the National Institute for Health’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and current Chief Medical Advisor to the President, the highest-paid among all 4 million federal employees.
Mike Pence only made about half of what Fauci did in the same year. Pence’s salary came in at $235,100.
Other notables whose salaries fall far below Fauci’s include House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who will earn $223,500 this year; Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts will make $270,700; and Members of Congress, who earn $174,000.
Oh, and four-star generals only make $268,000 a year.
Fauci’s salary from 2019 to 2024 will be $2.5 million if he stays on as President Biden’s chief medical adviser.
This doesn’t include any possible raises he may have already received or will receive in the coming years.
That’s a lot of money for a guy who can’t make up his mind about something like masks and has admitted to regularly misleading the public.
In August of 2020, actor Matthew McConaughey asked Fauci if he had invested millions of dollars in the vaccines.
Fauci laughingly responded, “Matthew, no, I got zero! I am a government worker. I have a government salary.” He failed to mention that his salary was the highest in all the federal government.
In a world being crippled by government lockdowns, it sure says a lot when the man who helped perpetuate the pandemic is making more than someone who leads troops into battle.
