The Left has waged war on anybody who challenges their extreme beliefs.
They believe that their enemies don’t deserve rights.
And Christians could lose their First Amendment right after the Left made a shocking move.
The public square is no longer in public.
It is online.
Online platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube are where people make their voices heard.
This is especially true following coronavirus lockdowns, where some places aren’t even allowing public demonstrations.
The government has codified this in the law, giving social media platforms exemptions from prosecution based on user content on their site through Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act.
This essentially means that if somebody posts illegal content, or defamatory content on a platform like Facebook, the platform itself cannot be held responsible legally or in civil court.
In contrast, a place like The New York Times, or any other news website, can be held responsible, as they decide what is posted on their website.
The one caveat to Section 230 is that the websites should remain content neutral and respect free speech rights.
They aren’t doing that now, which is proven by video-sharing website YouTube completely banning the popular Christian website LifeSiteNews from using their website.
They have stripped every video on their channel and closed the account, which had over 300,000 followers.
“YouTube just completely removed the LifeSiteNews YouTube channel. This isn’t a temporary ban; every single one of our videos is completely gone. Thankfully, we have backups of all our videos, but this means hundreds of thousands of people have lost access to our truth-telling content,” LifeSiteNews said on their website.
“Being completely removed from YouTube means we’ve lost access to more than 300,000 followers,” they continued.
The Christian website used the platform to mostly post pro-life videos, advocating for an end to abortion, which is First Amendment protected activity.
But to Big Tech platforms like YouTube, which is owned by Google, content such as that is considered hate speech.
YouTube didn’t give LifeSiteNews a reason, so one can only imply that it is over their pro-life content.
Abortion mill Planned Parenthood and pro-abortion organizations like NARAL maintain presence on the platform, but have failed to garner even close to the following LifeSiteNews had.
It is clear YouTube is trying to rig the game against conservatives, despite the government giving them legal immunity under the assumption they won’t do that.
