Every election cycle, small armies of Hollywood celebrities come out to endorse their favorite radical Leftist.
But this celebrity endorsement may have been a legacy-destroying decision.
And Bon Jovi is going to have to answer to his fans for this 2020 endorsement.
It is not a secret Bon Jovi is a liberal activist.
But many of his fans identify as Republicans and Trump supporters.
Which is why choosing to endorse failing candidate Cory Booker may be the biggest mistake Bon Jovi has ever made.
Rock icon Jon Bon Jovi dubbed bottom tier Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) the “right leader” to take on President Donald Trump in November 2020.
“I believe we need to respond with a strong call for unity and a renewed sense of shared purpose. I can’t think of anyone better than Cory Booker to rise to the challenge,” Bon Jovi said in an email soliciting donations for Booker’s fledgling campaign. “He is the right leader for this moment.”
“Cory needs all of us to step up right now so we can hit his $1.7 million end-of-quarter goal,” said the email, which came on the heels of Sen. Booker’s campaign manager, Addisu Demissie, warning that “without a fundraising surge to close out this quarter, we do not see a legitimate long-term path forward.”
Cory Booker’s campaign is tanking in the polls.
Candidates that were considered outsiders with no qualifications are now consistently beating him in the polls.
Bon Jovi’s email makes it quite obvious what Booker’s strategy to bail out his campaign is.
Booker is hoping a slew of celebrity endorsements will help him create an artificial boost in fundraising so he can make it the next quarter.
As pathetic and obvious as the plan is, it could very well work as other candidates struggling to raise funds continue to drop out of the race.
What do you think?
Will Cory Booker stay in the race another three months?
