There are few institutions the radical Left spends as much time attacking as the Catholic Church.
They have been able to get away with it because nobody would fight back.
But that all is changing, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is in big trouble after the Catholic Church came out against her.
Antifa and Black Lives Matter have made it clear that nobody is a bigger enemy to them than God.
At a recent Black Lives Matter riot in Portland, agitators were even caught on video burning a stack of Bibles.
They have targeted Christian churches nationwide, burning some to the ground, while vandalizing others.
It seems their biggest target has been Catholic Churches, with most of those charges being Catholic.
But they haven’t stopped with churches.
They have been calling for the destruction of Catholic statues and monuments as well.
In St. Louis, Missouri, Black Lives Matter has been targeting a statue to King Louis IX, a Catholic Saint who the city of St. Louis was named after.
Black Lives Matter has been caught on video brutally beating Catholics as they attempt to pray around the statue they want to destroy for no reason other than it being a symbol of a white man with religious convictions.
And this targeting of Catholic monuments is far from over.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is now taking this anti-Catholic crusade to the halls of Congress.
She is attacking a monument to Saint Damien of Molokai in the halls of Congress as an example of colonialism and white supremacy.
In a video posted on her Instagram account, the socialist Congresswoman refers to the Catholic Saint as a “colonizer,” adding that his statue being places in the U.S. Capitol building is “what patriarchy and white supremacist culture looks like!”
Following her statements, which were entirely incorrect, figures in the Catholic Church came out to set the record straight.
Los Angeles bishop Robert Barron said he felt the need to respond to her statements because they were “just so outrageous.”
After stating that Ocasio-Cortez likely has no idea who he was, he goes on to explain a bit about Saint Damien.
“This Belgian man who becomes a priest – a member of a missionary order – he goes mid-nineteenth century to Hawaii, works there for several years, and then volunteers to go to the island of Molokai, which at the time was a place where lepers were sent. And at the time there was no treatment, no cure,” explained Barron. “Those who had the disease were simply sent there to spend the rest of their lives, and they would die there.”
Bishop Barron went on to explain that Saint Damien died on the island of Molokai after contracting leprosy.
But because he is a white man, none of that seems to matter to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
